The course is a video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services arrives. Students learn duties and responsibilities of first aid rescuers; first aid actions for medical emergencies, including severe choking, heart attack, and stroke; and skills for handling injury and environmental emergencies, including external bleeding, broken bones and sprains, and bites and stings.
Students will learn how to remove gloves properly, practice on “Finding the Problem”, Use of an Epi-Pen (Epinephrine Injection Pen) and stopping the bleeding.
 
This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in first aid to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements.

In order to reduce potential COVID-19 exposure during this time, SPH Leadership has directed that we continue to offer AHA classes previously scheduled, but to convert these classes to the online course + skills test out.  If you are a SPH employee, contact me for a keycode to complete the online course and do a test out on the originally scheduled date and time.

Refunds for the difference in costs between the full course and skills tests will be given.

 All testing will be done on the originally scheduled date and time.

Be sure to bring your printed completion certificate to the skills test.
